Hunter's Smoked Rub on BBQ Ribs on the Grill

Recipe Overview:

  • Difficulty Level: Intermediate
  • Prep time: 7 - 10 minutes
  • Marinade time: 6 - 24 hours
  • Cook time: 2 hours 45 minutes (+7 minutes resting)
  • Total time: At least 9 hours
  • Servings: 6

Ingredients:

- 1-2 racks of full pork spare ribs

- 6 tbsp. Hunter's "Smoked Rub" BBQ Rib Rub (per rack of ribs)

- 3/4 cup Hunter's "Country Boy" Sauce & Marinade

- 2 tbsp. salt (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Place your spare ribs in a zip-lock bag and generously rub and coat both sides with 1/4 cup of Hunter's "Country Boy" sauce and marinade per rack. Seal the bag and refrigerate for a marination period of 6 to 24 hours.
  2. When ready to cook, remove the ribs from the marinade, shake off any excess, and discard the marinade. Do not rinse the meat.
  3. Season the meat evenly and generously on both sides using Hunter's Smoked Rub and a (splash of salt - optional). Let rest for 5 minutes.
  4. Light the grill and wait for 20-30 minutes or until the coals turn white. Add your choice of wood chips over the coals and close the grill for 10 minutes (ensure grill vents are fully open).
  5. Check for visible flames; if present, close the grill for an additional 3 minutes.
  6. Place the ribs on the grill at a temperature of 275 to 325 degrees. Monitor and flip the ribs for even cooking.
  7. When the ribs are 70% cooked, season both sides evenly with "Hunter's Smoked Rub" BBQ Rib Rub.
  8. At 90% completion, brush both sides with Hunter's "Country Boy" sauce (Optional).
  9. Once fully cooked, let the BBQ ribs rest for 7 minutes at room temperature.
  10. Slice the ribs and savor the moment – Enjoy!
